The Truth of Agarwood
Agarwood (Aquilaria agallocha Roxb.) is a kind of oleoresin formed inside in the agarwood tree. Agarwood tree can live more than a thousand year, so some of the highest quality agarwood also has been formed for the same long period of time.

Agarwood is a resinous wood that sometimes occurs in trees belonging to the Aquilaria genus, Thymelaeceae family. Aquilaria is a fast-growing, archaic tropical forest tree, which occurs in South and Southeast Asia.

The tree grows in natural forests at an altitude of a few meters above sea level to about 1000 meters, and it grows best around 500 meters. It can grow on a wide range of soils, including poor sandy soil. Seedlings need a lot of shade and water. Trees grow very fast, and start producing flowers and seeds as early as four years old. At least fifteen species of Aquilaria trees are known to produce the much sought-after Agarwood. In South Asia Aquilaria achalloga is found, particularly in India, Aquilaria malaccensis is mostly known from Malaysia and Indonesia, and Aquilaria crassna principally grows in Indochina. A number of other species are known such as Aquilaria grandfolia, Aquilaria chinesis etc.

Unlike other kind of fragrant wood or material, agar wood does not generate obvious fragrance before burning. It only generates great fragrance when it is burned. The fragrance is effected by various factors such as level of containing oleoresin, reason of forming oleoresin and the color of resin.

Oleo-resin: A natural or prepared material. Natural oleo-resins are exudations from tree trunks, bark, etc.; prepared oleo-resins are extracted using solvents.
Resin: A natural or prepared product. Natural resins are solid or semi-solid, almost odorless exudations from trees or plants formed in Nature by the oxidation of terpenes. Prepared resins are Oleo-resins from which the essential oil has been removed.

It is no doubt that agarwood is a kind of highly precious and effective natural medicinal materials. Its preciousness has been presented in countless occasions in history, medicine, and religious books (including the Bible). Because it takes so long to form high quality agarwoods, the demand for agarwood is much higher than the supply. It results that most agarwoods and agarwood related products sold in the market are adulterated

With our experience of more than 25 years, we can guarantee for quality’s control, and output will be the same.
